BARNEGAT – A local man will be spending several years in prison following his guilty pleas on weapon and drug charges.
Clifford Holland, 48, of Barnegat, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison for the charge of Possession of Less than One Half Ounce of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. He was also sentenced with 10 years in prison – with a five year period of parole ineligibility – for Unlawful Possession of a Handgun – having previously been convicted of an offense subject to the No Early Release Act.
On February 23, 2024, police executed a court-authorized search warrant at a residence on Gunning River Road. They seized cocaine and a .22 caliber revolver. Holland was taken into custody at the scene without incident
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer acknowledged the efforts of Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke who handled the case on behalf of the State, and commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Barnegat Police Crime Reduction Unit, Barnegat Police, Stafford Police Drug Enforcement Unit, and Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, for their combined and collective assistance in connection with this investigation resulting in Holland’s guilty pleas, and now his state prison sentence.
