WALL – A Lakewood Township man has been arrested for possessing child pornography and more, police said.

David I. Sutton of Lakewood was charged with second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material (child pornography) and fourth-degree lewdness.

On September 17, authorities searched Sutton’s home on Lanes Mills Road in Lakewood Township. Sutton was taken into custody without incident.

Investigation began after an incident that occurred at the Target on Route 35 in Wall Township on August 28. At the time, Sutton was arrested for invasion of privacy, obstruction of the administration of justice, and harassment.

According to police, store employees found Sutton pointing his cell phone up a female customer’s skirt. Sutton fled on foot and was apprehended by Patrolman Shane Roland after a brief foot chase.

Sutton’s electronic device was then examined by police, where they found revealing a large amount of child pornography.

Sutton is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI), where he is awaiting his first court appearance and detention hearing.
