TOMS RIVER – The newest addition to the Jersey Shore restaurant scene opened its doors on Monday, July 1. BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is officially open for business on the Hooper Avenue side of the Ocean County Mall.
This is BJ’s first location along the Jersey Shore. Also in New Jersey is its Teterboro location. The restaurant and brew house chain originated in Huntington Beach, California and has grown to incorporate over 200 nationwide locations.
The addition of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is part of some major changes happening at the Ocean County Mall. After local residents said goodbye to the Sears department store last year, Simon Property Group has been rolling out big plans to upgrade the mall with a “lifestyle center.”
As of now, the “lifestyle center” will include an LA Fitness, Homesense, and Ulta Beauty.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is a standalone building adjacent to the Ocean County Mall, built on what was once the Sears parking lot.
The menu includes everything from pizza to burgers to pasta, as well as their signature craft beers.
