Motorcyclist Passes Away In Route 70 Crash

  MANCHESTER – A motorcyclist has passed away after he was critically injured in a crash on Route 70 last week.

  On September 1, 2024, Timothy J. O’Connor succumbed to his injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Manchester.

  Tim was born in Newark, on November 11, 1954, to Edward “Mickey” and Lorraine O’Connor. He received an Associate degree in Applied Science in Accounting from Wilson Community College, Wilson, NC.

  He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1978, and retired in 2023 from his position as Director of Education for Lincoln Technical Institute.

  “Tim ‘Diesel’ has been a member of the Delaware Valley Nam Knights of America MC for over 19 years, serving as President for the last three years,” his obituary states.

  On June 13, 1987, he married the love of his life, Stephanie. They went on to raise two beloved children, Tabitha and Jason, and have “loved and supported Lorraine, who has become like a daughter as the years have passed.”

  “The most treasured roles in Tim’s life were that of Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather, and Brother, both in blood and patch,” his obituary states.

  Tim is preceded in death by his mother Lorraine S. O’Connor, sister Suzanne Patak, father Edward O’Connor, brother Michael O’Connor, and his wife Stephanie.

  Timothy is survived by his daughter Tabitha, his son Jason and Jason’s wife Melania, and niece Lorraine, as well as his grandchildren Tyler, Izzie, Caleb, and Noah, and mother Helen O’Connor, formerly of Manahawkin; siblings Debbie Kuntz (Jerry) of Stewartsville, NJ; Barbara Saul (Manfred) of Whippany, NJ; Wayne Pynckels (Carolyn) of Carteret, NJ; Robert Pynckels of Union, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

  “His family both in blood and patch are devastated by this loss. He made an impact on every life he touched and dedicated his time to helping others,” his obituary states.

  A Celebration of Life will occur at the VFW Post 7677 in Medford, NJ, on Saturday, November 16 from 12 to 4 p.m.
