POINT PLEASANT BEACH – No one was injured when a man suspected of DWI drove his car into the McDonalds on Ocean Avenue early Saturday morning.
Police said the 49-year-old man left Route 35 and crashed into the side of the building at around 12:22 a.m.
Point Beach Police responded to the scene along with crews from Ocean Fire Company No. 1 and Point Beach Fire Company No. 2.
According to Ocean County Scanner News, there was broken glass as well as a hole in the side of the fast food restaurant.
Crews from Rescue Engine 4211, Rescue 4303 and Rescue 4203 assisted with the cleanup of the scene and stood by while building inspectors investigated the structural damage to the building.
The building was deemed structurally sound
The identity of the driver was not released.
