POINT PLEASANT BOROUGH – Firefighters quickly put out a basement fire at a home in the borough. The fire apparently started from an issue with a clothes dryer.
On April 14, the Point Pleasant Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding smoke scene at 213 Ida Drive in Point Pleasant Borough.
Both police and fire departments were dispatched to the scene. The fire chief noted how there was heavy but lazy smoke in the home.
Stretching a 1 3/4″ attack line from their engine, firefighters quickly headed in to find the fire and put out the flames. There was also a second line backup to assist the fire. All of the Borough fire departments responded with Station 24 for the FAST TEAM.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshals and the Point Pleasant Police Department.
