
LAKEWOOD – The Ocean County Department of Human Services will be opening the Lakewood Community Center as a shelter for the homeless to keep them safe from freezing temperatures for the next few nights.
The center, located at 20 4th Street in Lakewood, will be open from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. on the nights of Jan. 27, 28, and 29.
The Code Blue program opens up shelters to keep people inside when temperatures dip below freezing.
