“Hairspray” Performance To Benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation

OCEAN COUNTY – The Ashley Lauren Foundation Theatre Ensemble, the theatrical arm of The Ashley Lauren Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and help to children throughout New Jersey who suffer from cancer through financial, material and emotional support, will present the musical, HAIRSPRAY, on July 14 at 7:30 pm, July 15 at 7:30 pm and July 16 at 2:00 pm at The Strand Theatre, 400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, NJ.

The 1950’s are out and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It’s 1962 in Baltimore and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad has only one desire – to dance on the popular “Corny Collins show.” When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network… all without denting her ‘do!  You will truly enjoy a wonderful family show while helping children that are suffering from cancer.

Tickets are reserved seating $15.00 and up. There is a special VIP Dinner/Show Package for $40.00 on Friday, July 15th at 6 pm at The Strand.
