POINT PLEASANT – After stealing over $75,000, a former bookkeeper of The Atlantic Club has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced that Jennifer Ambrosino, 42, was sentenced to three years in prison. She was also ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution by Superior Court Judge Paul X. Escandon.
The Point Pleasant resident had pleaded guilty to second degree Theft by Unlawful Taking back in April for stealing from her previous employment between January 2012 and June 2017.
After investigating, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Wall Township Police Department, and the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Office of Criminal Investigation determined that Ambrosino embezzled over $223,000 from The Atlantic Club for her own personal use.
They said she covered her crimes by altering bank statements, initiating fraudulent wire transfers, and submitting erroneous reconciliation documents.
