LAKEWOOD – A fire that damaged a building on Prospect Street is under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Arson Squad, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Lakewood Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire took place at around 3:15 p.m. on March 28, officials said. Lakewood police and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze which was on the stairwell and on the second floor.
“Additional information will be released to the public as it becomes available,” Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
