TOMS RIVER – Tragedy strikes on the Barnegat Bay as a boat accident claims the life of an 19-year-old man and injures five other people.
Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez of the New Jersey State Police told Jersey Shore Online that a pontoon boat struck a marker near the Route 37 bridge in Toms River around 1:30 in the morning on June 13.
The man identified as Corey Molinari of Whippany suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he died.
Goez said there were a total of six people onboard, including the fatality. Of the five other occupants, two were ejected. Four sustained sustained non-life-threatening injuries and one sustained moderate injuries.
None of the other victims have been identified.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
