Attempted Murder Suspect Will Remain Detained Pending Trial

TOMS RIVER – The man charged with Attempted Murder after allegedly stabbing a woman multiple times will remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.

  On March 3, police responded to the Howard Johnson on Hooper Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. regarding a fight between a man and a woman in the lobby. After the fight, the woman was left with multiple stab wounds. She was then taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

  The suspect, Carles Bryant, 34, of Millville, has been charged with Attempted Murder as well as Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Contempt.

  Bryant was apprehended in Atlantic City on March 19 and has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail since the date of his arrest. Bryant will remain detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial.
