WOODLAND – Police said three people sustained serious injuries during a crash on Route 72 on July 9.
Police said that a Honda CRV was heading east on 72 near mile marker 5.5 in Woodland at around 4 p.m. A Honda Accord was heading west, and a Mercedes Benz was behind it.
The CRV and the Accord collided head-on, and the Mercedes veered off the road and hit a tree, New Jersey State Police said.
The driver of the CRV, a 24-year-old man from Manahawkin, his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, and the driver of the Accord, a 26-year-old woman from Matawan, all sustained serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
