NEW JERSEY – The Pinelands Commission, because of the large public turnout at its January 24 meeting and the potential concern that individuals may have chosen to leave rather than wait to provide their comments on the South Jersey Gas Company’s natural gas pipeline application, is extending the public’s opportunity to provide written comments concerning Pinelands Application No. 2012-0056.001 for the portion of the 22-mile, 24-inch, natural gas pipeline proposed to be constructed by South Jersey Gas within the state designated Pinelands Area.

The deadline for the submission of written comments was originally 5 p.m. on January 24. The new deadline for the submission of written comments is now 5 p.m. on February 8.

The application, as well as the Commission staff’s determination (i.e. the August 14, 2015 Certificate of Filing; the August 21, 2015 letter to Paul Flanagan, Executive Director, Board of Public Utilities enclosing the Certificate of Filing and the December 14, 2015 letter to Paul Flanagan, Executive Director, Board of Public Utilities) as well as the record developed before the Board of Public Utilities during its consideration of SJG’s petition in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:55D-19, is on file and available for inspection by appointment at the Pinelands Commission’s offices.

Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Commission’s offices at 609-894-7300.

Comments may be sent via the following:

Mail: NJ Pinelands Commission, P.O. Box 359, New Lisbon, NJ, 08064.

Email: info@njpines.state.nj.us.

Following the close of the public comment period, the Commission staff will prepare a subsequent recommendation as to the continued validity of its prior consistency determination. A copy of this recommendation will be posted on the Commission’s website prior to the date of the Commission meeting at which the Commission will consider same.
