ATLANTIC CITY – A new mega center for the administration of COVID-19 vaccine will open today at 3 p.m. in the city.
The mass vaccination site based at the Atlantic City Convention Center is planning to provide 31,000 first doses later today.
Appointments will be able to be scheduled on AtlantiCare’s website. Those eligible must create an AtlantiCare account to secure an appointment at the Atlantic City Convention Center’s mega-site, according to a statement by the healthcare system.
Once all appointments are filled for this event, AtlantiCare’s weekly scheduling events will stop though. individuals can log in to their accounts to check for additional appointments that might become available.
The online schedule includes the following dates and times:
Today, March 30 at 3 p.m.
Thursday, April 1 at 6 p.m.
Saturday, April 3 at 9 a.m.
Vaccinations were expanded by state officials to include a wider group of eligible recipients. Additional frontline and essential workers can now make vaccine appointments. They include restaurant and grocery store workers, hospitality staff and members of clergy.
According to Sherrie Bragg, the clinical manager of the Atlantic City based mega-site, more than 129,000 doses were already provided to the site late last week. She noted the community’s patience and support in efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
