FREEHOLD – Two died in a fatal motor vehicle accident in Rumson over the weekend, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
John J. Berry Jr., 29, of Atlantic Highlands, and passenger, Stephanie Hogan 28, of Red Bank, were killed when a car struck their motorcycle on Hartshorne Road on the evening of May 18.
According to police, Berry and Hogan were riding a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound on Hartshorne Road, approaching the intersection of Navesink Avenue, when they were struck by a 2019 Jeep Wrangler.
Both individuals were thrown from the motorcycle and were pronounced dead at the scene at 8:02 p.m.
The driver of the Wrangler and one passenger, both minors, stopped and remained on scene.
An investigation is ongoing by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Rumson Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
