Teacher Arrested For Soliciting Sex From Underage Boys

  LONG BRANCH – On January 18, a 65-year-old science teacher at Long Branch Middle School was arrested in relation to soliciting sex from underage boys online, according to authorities.

  Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri stated that detectives with the prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and Special Victims Unit performed a motor vehicle stop on the suspect, Jesse Rosenbaum of Manalapan, by his residence.

  Rosenbaum was then charged with third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child and is currently being held in the Mercer County Correction Center pending a detention hearing.

  According to Onofri, Rosenbaum was the subject of a recent investigation into the sexual exploitation of children online. Investigation revealed that Rosenbaum was soliciting underage males online to engage in sexual acts and also sexual conversation. Allegedly, Rosenbaum was involved in sexually explicit emails, text messages and phone conversations with an individual he presumed to be a 14-year-old male.

Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
