Neptune Man Pleads Guilty To Dealing Heroin And Fentanyl

  TRENTON – A man owning 1,982 bags of heroin and fentanyl packaged for sale admitted his guilt in court.

  Derrick Norwood, 58, of Neptune, was found with a safe in his home that had 39 bricks, or 1,982 bags of the drugs on July 18, 2019.

  The drug dealing charge carries a statutory mandatory minimum term of five years in prison, a maximum of 40 years in prison, and a fine up to $5 million. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 23.

  Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig credited special agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Susan A. Gibson, and detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni, with the investigation.
