FREEHOLD – A 38-year-old man was crossing the street one evening when he was suddenly struck by a car and died.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced that a man has passed away due to a major vehicle collision.
The Newark resident was walking across the intersection of Route 33 and Woodward Road in the early evening when he was hit by a car. A 32-year-old female from Neptune hit the man with her 2017 Toyota Rav 4. The woman was heading east on Route 33 and was approaching the intersection the man was crossing.
After the crash, another vehicle owned by a 54-year-old woman from East Windsor was driving behind the Rav 4 and also hit the male on the street.
Both of the drivers involved in the accident were not injured, but the man was reported dead at the scene.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Marlboro Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) are still investigating the accident.
