MARLBORO – A 51-year-old man has been convicted of committing acts of sexual and physical abuse against his own daughter for more than six years, officials said.
Andrey V. Penkin of Marlboro Township was found guilty of two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, second-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The abuse of Penkin’s daughter began in 2016, when the family lived in Sayreville (Middlesex County), authorities said. Numerous incidents of sexual abuse followed, occurring in Sayreville and at their next two homes in East Brunswick and Marlboro.
After discovering her to be in possession of a friend’s pack of cigarettes, Penkin physically assaulted the victim causing a severe concussion and related facial injuries, officials said.
Penkin was arrested in April 2023. At trial, the State presented medical records, witness testimony, and physical evidence, including the victim’s diary, to prove its case; the jury deliberated for 80 minutes before returning guilty verdicts.
At a sentencing hearing with a date yet to be determined, Penkin will face a minimum of 25 years in state prison with no eligibility for parole, in accordance with the provisions of New Jersey’s Jessica Lunsford Act.
