MANCHESTER – Manchester Township Police caught some amazing footage during the storms that ripped through the area Monday morning.

The world woke up to a mess that morning, especially in Manchester, where schools were forced to cancel classes for the day because of flooding, downed wires and power outages. Police had to direct traffic at Route 70 and Colonial Drive when the traffic light went out.

That’s when footage of a transformer exploding was caught on video.

Later in the same video, a utility worker believing a downed wire was de-energized was actually live. The wire exploded into flames as it hit the wet ground. Police said the worker escaped death due to his safety equipment he was wearing.

No one was injured during the storm or after the clean up.
