LAKEHURST – Another Ocean County business is closing its doors. The Union Café in Lakehurst will be serving up their last lattes and sweet treats on January 24, 2020.
The Union Café staff posted the announcement to their Facebook page this week “with a heavy heart.”
“We want to thank each and every one of you who has made this past year so incredible. We loved having the opportunity to meet you and share our love of good coffee and good food,” it read.
Located at 674 Route 70 in Lakehurst, the Union Café is neighbor to Jersey Shore Online’s new headquarters in the Lakehurst Circle.
Owner Sofie Schildge noted that while they are sad the café is closing; they are grateful to their customers.
Normal business hours will continue during the week, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., except for Saturdays when they are closed. On Monday, Jan. 20 the café will close at 2 p.m.
During Halloween last year, Micromedia Publications Vice President Jason Allentoff had some fun with the owners of the cafe with this short comedic video. We will miss Sofie and the gang and we wish them the best of luck in the future.
