Traffic Stop Leads To Large Cocaine Bust Worth Over $72,000

MANCHESTER – A Beachwood man stopped for a motor vehicle violation was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses.

Michael Trotman, 33, was stopped on Route 37 near Colonial Drive May 30. Officers searched his vehicle and found 1.6 pounds of cocaine, 27 oxycodone pills, 5 ounces of liquid codeine, 15 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, all valued at more than $72,000.

Trotman was charged with one count each of possession of and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, three counts of possession of and one count of possession with intent to distribute oxycodone, one count each of possession of and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of codeine, hindering evidence by concealment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His 2015 Toyota Camry and $1,400 in cash was seized and is pending forfeiture.

Trotman was held at Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail.
