MANCHESTER – Three Trenton residents were arrested on drug charges after a motor vehicle stop May 10.
Driver Devonte Laws, 18, was charged with possession of paraphernalia and marijuana use.
Passengers Roger Carter-Evans and Kyjohn Stewart, both 19, were each charged with one count each of possession and possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, loitering to distribute CDS, and marijuana use.
All three were released on summonses pending a future court date.
According to Captain Todd Malland, members of the narcotics enforcement team observed a “suspicious” vehicle near Quick Chek at Route 571. Police stopped the vehicle on Route 70 for a motor vehicle violation and found cause to search the occupants and vehicle. Police uncovered 120 bags of heroin with a street value of more than $800, and drug paraphernalia.
Assisting in the investigation were members of the Manchester Township Police K-9 Unit.
