MANCHESTER – The death of a man in the Pine Lake Park section of the township has been ruled a homicide, police reported.
The victim was Frank Stochel, 55, of Manchester Township. Police had been called out to a 6th Avenue Home on Feb. 24 for a report of an unresponsive man. When officers arrived, he was dead.
On Feb. 25, the Ocean County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be homicide, according to a statement by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Manchester Township Police Chief Lisa Parker.
They also said that there is no threat to the public at this time, even though it is an active investigation.
