MANCHESTER – A Manchester man remains behind bars in Middlesex County, accused of sexually assaulting a child almost thirty years ago.

The Middlesex County Prosecutors Office said 64-year-old Robert Jazikoff of Whiting is charged with two first-degree counts of aggravated sexual assault and two second-degree counts of sexual assault. The alleged incidents took place in the early 1990’s.

Jazikoff was a former Woodbridge volunteer fire chief and is currently employed at JFK Hospital in Edison.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said the investigation began after the alleged victim, who is now an adult, had contacted the authorities accusing him of sexual assault when they were 12 and 13 years old in 1991 and 1992.

Jazikoff remains at the Middlesex County Jail and is expected to have a detention hearing next week.

Anyone with information who could help the probe should call Detective Nicole Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department at 732-634-7700 extension 7614 or Detective Deon McCall of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3652.
