MANCHESTER – Two motorcyclists are in stable condition after a collision Friday afternoon.

Township police responded to the accident scene at Ridgeway Boulevard and Route 571 at 4:41 p.m. Aug. 10. Two motorcycles—a Kawasaki Ninja and a Harley Davidson—were lying on their sides in the road. The drivers had been ejected and also were lying in the road.

Police pieced together that the Harley Davidson was traveling west on Route 571 behind a slowing-down vehicle making a right turn onto Ridgeway Boulevard. The Harley Davidson continued straight, colliding with the Kawasaki Ninja, which was making a left turn from Ridgeway Boulevard onto Route 571.

Jeffrey Saliski, 51, of Manchester, was driving the Kawasaki and sustained serious head and wrist injuries.

Kevin Zodl, 49, of Fords, sustained significant head injuries.

Both were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where both are listed in stable condition according to police.

Detours were put in place for several hours while the scene was cleared and investigated.

The Manchester and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Departments, EMTs from both Quality Medical Transport and Manchester Volunteer First Aid assisted, along with paramedics and medical personnel from MONOC.

Sergeant Antonio Ellis and Patrolman Ian Bole of the Department’s Traffic Safety Unit are investigating.
