MANCHESTER – A Manchester man was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after driving erratically from Toms River to Manchester.
Richard Mosca, 60, destroyed road signs, a mailbox and car parked on the road before crashing into trees off Commonwealth Boulevard Tuesday early evening.
Police found Mosca conscious but significant head injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and in addition to his personal injuries, both airbags in his 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up were deployed. The road was closed for several hours last night as police investigated the scene.
Police said he was impaired due to alcohol and drugs in his system. Mosca also had heroin on him.
Mosca was listed in stable condition today.
