MANCHESTER – High School students were sheltering in place today after an unauthorized minor got into the school, officials said.

Manchester police responded, as did school security, Interim Superintendent Diane Pedroza said. “The Shelter-In-Place was cleared shortly thereafter.”
She posted online that the families of students were notified after the sheltering began. She thanked the staff and police who responded.

The investigation is ongoing, both internally and with the police, she said.

“We continue to take school security seriously and strive to make Manchester Schools a positive place for everyone to learn and work. We encourage anyone who sees or hears of suspicious activity or threats to please report it directly to the school, the police or to use the police department’s tip line found on their website,” she said.
