LAKEHURST – Police are investigating the cause of a crash that flipped a vehicle and hospitalized the driver over the weekend.
On August 9, Lakehurst Police responded to the area of Route 37 and Route 70 in the Lakehurst Circle for reports of a motor vehicle crash.
According to police, the driver was traveling west on Route 37 when he drove over the grass portion of the circle and crashed into the guardrail along Route 70 west. As a result, the vehicle flipped over and landed on its roof 20 feet down a ditch.
The male driver was found semiconscious with a visible laceration his head, police said.
He was removed from the vehicle, lifted from the ditch, and airlifted to Jersey Shore Hospital where he is currently stable.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
