Man Accused Of DWI With Seven Kids In His Vehicle

LAKEHURST – The borough police department pulled over a 36-year-old Lakewood man who was driving erratically through the streets. He was found to be driving while intoxicated with seven children in the vehicle.

Lakehurst Police said Paulino Rosendo-Camargo was stopped by officers on June 5 at 11:16 p.m.

Police explained that Officer Gavin Cecchini observed the vehicle speeding and made the stop. Inside, he found the seven young children not wearing seatbelts.

Rosendo-Camargo was placed under arrest for DWI and the kids were taken into protective custody by officers until a responsible adult could take custody of them.

He was processed and released but faces 2nd Degree Endangering the welfare of a child, Driving while intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to maintain lane of travel, Delaying traffic and Child restraint required charges.

All criminal charges are merely accusations, and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
