LAKEHURST – A guy walks into a liquor store and steals money from behind the counter. It sounds like the start a joke, but it’s a real theft that happened at Bailey’s Liquors in the borough.
Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins confirmed a theft at the liquor store this week. The suspect is described as a full-bearded heavy-set black male, 5’11”, who was wearing a gray shirt with blue sleeves, black pants, a blue winter hat.
He reportedly went behind the counter and took a box that contained about $700 and left the store.
Reports said he fled in a white Nissan Frontier.
Lakehurst Police are reviewing security camera footage and will release more information, as the investigation is ongoing.
