MANCHESTER – A home health aide allegedly stole more than $16,000 from two elderly patients, according to a police investigation. Officers believe that there might be more victims out there as well.
Keighla Bloschock, 27, of Manchester, was charged with multiple counts of theft, forgery, computer related criminal activity, and money laundering after a two-month investigation revealed that she stole over $16,000 from her elderly patients.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
Suspicions began when one of the patients tried to pay her mortgage and there was not enough money in her account to do so, police said. There were only a few dollars left in her account.
Det. Adam Emmons of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Investigations Bureau tracked the funds to multiple bank accounts in Bloschock’s name. The funds were returned to the victim.
This also led to a potential second victim. Police said another elderly patient confirmed that thousands of dollars had also been stolen from him.
“Again, Det. Emmons followed the money and located an additional account in Bloschock’s name,” police said. “This account contained a considerable amount of money stolen from the second victim and was subsequently seized.
“The investigation revealed that Bloshchock, while supposedly caring for these elderly patients, was stealing their personal checks and making them out to herself. In addition, she purchased extravagant items to include jewelry and high-end clothing, as well as attempting to pay off thousands of dollars of student loans,” police said.
Since two victims have been found, police are asking the public to notify them if they have any more information about Bloschock or if they might have been robbed by her.
