Contractor, Accused Of Wrongly Billing Air Force, Pays Settlement

LAKEHURST – A defense contractor will pay $600,000 to resolve allegations that it charged the local military base for work it did not do, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said.

Solution One Industries Inc., located in Killeen, Texas, won an award from the U.S. Air Force to support the 421st Combat Training Squadron based out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. This work was on an as-needed basis and included providing back-up power and giving briefings to military personnel.

The settlement resolves allegations that from December 2017 through June 2019, Solution One billed for tasks that it did not perform, Sellinger said.

Sellinger credited the U.S. Department of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, under the direction of Brig. Gen. Amy S. Bumgarner, with the investigation of the allegations.
