MANCHESTER – Three people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a local medical building Thursday morning.
Helen A. Bach, 78, of Whiting, crashed her blue 2007 Hyundai Sonata through the front of Medical Associates of Marlboro, located at 1220 Route 70. The office is closed for repairs.
Manchester Township Police said Bach’s foot slipped off the brake pedal and hit the gas pedal as she was attempting to park her car.
The crash caused significant damage to the front of the building.
Three patients inside the building were also injured. A 51-year-old Brick woman and 88-year-old Whiting woman were thrown from their seats in the waiting area. They were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for non-life-threatening injuries.
A third woman, a 76-year-old from Haledon, was taken to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood for non-life-threatening injuries.
Bach was unharmed.
Members of Whiting Volunteer First Aid Squad and EMTs from Quality Medical Transport assisted. Also assisting were inspectors from the Manchester Township Department of Inspections.
An investigation is ongoing by Ptl. Jesse Hoydis of the Manchester Township Traffic Safety Unit.
