JACKSON – For the second time in less than a week, there was a little excitement at Six Flags Great Adventure that didn’t involve any planned entertainment.
Ocean County Scanner News was first to report a smoke condition inside the Justice League ride. The Six Flags Fire Department along with units from the Jackson and Millstone Fire Departments were dispatched to check it out.
Six Flags Great Adventure spokesperson Kristin Fitzgerald told Jersey Shore Online that the source was a faulty camera component.
Fitzgerald said “all guests and team members safely exited the ride building within minutes. No one was injured.”
Fitzgerald also added that “the safety of our guests and team members is our highest priority.”
The incident comes just five days after two park guests had to be taken to the hospital after an accident involving the Log Flume ride.
One of the boats didn’t complete its cycle. One boat had been tipped upwards at an angle but didn’t overturn.
The ride remains shut down for the time being. Fitzgerald confirmed that they are still completing their Engineering and Safety review.
