JACKSON – A serious accident just before the evening rush leaves one person dead and an unknown number of people injured.
According to Ocean County Scanner News, two vehicles were involved in the Friday crash on South Hope Chapel Road. The call came in around 3:30 p.m.
Multiple police, first responders and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene near Whitesville Road.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert urging everyone to avoid the area of South Hope Chapel Road between Whitesville Road and Freemont Avenue.
A local resident told Jersey Shore Online that two vehicles, a van and a sedan, appeared to have collided and were on the side of the road.
No word on what caused the accident or if weather played a role.
