JACKSON – A motor vehicle stop lead to the drug arrest of a 25-year-old man on Oct. 15.
The man, whose name and address were not released, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of an unlawful weapon (brass knuckles), unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), possession of hollow point ammunition, possession of CDS while operating a motor vehicle, tailgating, failure to maintain lane and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to Capt. Steven Laskiewicz of the Jackson Township Police Department.
He was stopped by Officer Keith French at 10:43 p.m. on South Cooksbridge Road. French smelled marijuana in the car and took the man into custody. A vehicle search led to the seizure of marijuana, a 9mm handgun, 9mm ammunition, .380 caliber hollow point ammunition and a combination of brass knuckles/knife.
He was processed and taken to Ocean County Jail.
