HOWELL – Scary moments in the township Sunday after a six year old reported to police that a man placed a plastic bag placed over her head before she ran into her house. The incident is now being treated as an attempted child abduction.
Howell Police Chief Andrew Kudrick said officers are on the scene on Crooked Stick Court in the Adelphia Greens residential development located off of Rt. 9 and the Freehold border.
Police said the six year old told police that she was playing outside with friends. When they went inside, she stayed outside to clean up the toys. That’s when the man approached her and placed the bag over her head. She told police he didn’t try to grab her. She screamed before running into the house.
According to the description, the man was driving a black SUV.
Howell officers are currently canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing residents.
Residents are urged to review their security cameras for any footage that may be beneficial to the investigation.
