Celebrate Music At The Toms River Library

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, located at 101 Washington Street, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a live musical performance by Tito Puente Jr. and his orchestra at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 21. Puente, the son of Latin jazz/mambo legend Tito Puente, has become an audience favorite in art centers, symphony halls, and jazz festivals worldwide. This program is sponsored in part with funding from an OceanFirst Foundation Arts and Cultural Grant and the Ocean County Library Foundation. The concert is free, but registration is required. In celebration of Classical Guitar Month, Gregory Askins and Joseph Parisi of the classical guitar duo Nylon Wound will perform at 2 p.m. Friday, September 22 at the Toms River Library. The program will feature music from the Renaissance to the contemporary with Bach, Gershwin, Brubeck, the Beatles, and more. This program is open to everyone but registration is required.
