TOMS RIVER – A Barnegat man was charged in the overdose death of a woman who died in January.
Curtis Geathers, 33, was charged with strict liability drug induced death, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Authorities allege that Geathers sold heroin and fentanyl to a Point Pleasant woman Jan. 10, who was found unresponsive in a borough residence. She died at Ocean Medical Center two days later. Toxicology reports confirmed the drugs as the cause of death.
An investigation led authorities to Geathers, who was arrested Feb. 7.
He was processed at the Point Pleasant Police Department, and then taken to Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
