
BRICK – A Lakewood man was arrested and charged after police found him in possession of a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine.
On April 9, the Brick Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU) was conducting generalized surveillance in Maple Leaf Park when they found a suspicious vehicle. After observing various traffic violations, detectives requested a marked patrol unit to conduct a traffic stop, police said,
At the time of the stop, detectives became suspicious and proceeded to search the vehicle, finding a loaded 9mm handgun in the back seat with a high capacity magazine.
The driver, 38-year-old Victor M. Conde of Lakewood, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon (2nd degree), possession of a high capacity magazine (4th degree) and certain person not to possess a firearm (2nd degree). He was transported to the Ocean County Jail.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
