LAKEWOOD – An alleged child pornographer recently added to the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted List was arrested in Lakewood Thursday.
Stephen C. Cote, 47, was apprehended in the Westgate apartment complex parking lot by authorities.
His information, including the vehicle he may have been driving, was forwarded to the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force by Massachusetts state and federal authorities.
Task Force members, working with U.S. Marshals as well as New Jersey State Police and state Department of Criminal Justice officials, positively identified Cote and took him into custody.
Cote was wanted to local, state and federal authorities for allegedly receiving material involving the sexual exploitation of minors. A warrant for his arrest was issued in November 2015, but he’s evaded authorities until yesterday.
He’ll be held until arraignment in federal court in the near future.
