Jersey Shore Authorities Participate In Active Shooter Drill

BRICK – Ocean and Monmouth county emergency agencies participated in “Operation Hot Shot 2” May 19. The Operation was a large-scale drill involving two active shooters at a simulated sporting event.

The surprise drill tested first responders—police, EMS, fire and medical workers.

The two township high schools’ students and staff participated, wearing prosthetics and makeup to simulate real injuries, and transported to Ocean Medical Center as if the injuries were real.

Officers entered the school with training guns to neutralize the threat and locate the injured.

Participating agencies and organizations included: Brick Township Board of Education, Brick Township Office of Emergency Management, Brick Township Police EMS, Brick Township Fire Departments, Ocean Medical Center, Toms River EMS, Point Boro EMS, Lakewood EMS, Manasquan EMS, Wall EMS, Howell EMS, Jackson First EMS, Tri-Boro EMS, Howell Police EMS, Brick Township C.E.R.T., Toms River C.E.R.T., Ocean County C.E.R.T., and The Salvation Army.
