POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Have you ever done a good deed for a stranger? Experienced one yourself? Or perhaps paid it forward?
Well, MaryAnn Martin has. While shopping at a Stop & Shop in Point Pleasant Beach, Martin experienced one of those random acts of kindness that can make someone’s whole day.
To her surprise, Martin forgot her wallet and was unable to purchase her groceries. If it were not for the help of a kind stranger, she would have left empty handed.
When this stranger, named Diane, paid for Martin’s groceries, she was astounded and immensely grateful.
“It was a really kind gesture,” she said.
Martin noted that she doesn’t know Diane’s last name, just that she was very kind. Martin said that she hopes word will get back to Diane about her appreciation, and that others will be inspired to practice compassion.
