BRICK – Township and county authorities are probing a fatal stabbing that took place in an apartment complex on Sunday, according to Ocean County law enforcement officials.
Brick Township Police Sargent Jim Kelly told Jersey Shore Online that the investigation is ongoing at the Brick Gardens Apartment Complex and they can’t release details at this time.
Jersey Shore Online reached out to the prosecutors office after we had a number of tips that units from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department were also at the scene.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, a man was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick with a stab wound to his chest. He died at the hospital and was not identified pending family notification.
Billhimer said the authorities were following several leads and interviewing family members and witnesses. There is an extra police presence at the apartments as a result.
