BRICK – It has been a long time in the making, but it is finally here. The new White Castle location in Brick is open for business, with lines wrapping around the building on May 16.
Back in February 2019, Jersey Shore Online reported on the construction of the new fast food site located at the Riverwalk Shopping Center near Investors Savings Bank and Outback Steakhouse. At the time, the opening date was still a mystery.
Now, about 12 years after initial approval, the 62-seat White Castle restaurant is up and running serving up its signature burgers to Brick residents.
According to earlier reports, the White Castle was approved back in 2017 by the township planning board. The application before the board dates back to 2013, when a preliminary plan was approved for the fast food restaurant to be located between the Outback Restaurant and Investors Bank, on the site of the former Lukoil Gas Station on Chambers Bridge Road.
The planning process was slowed down by cleanup from the former gas station at that location and issues with accommodating a driveway for both Investors Bank and White Castle.
This White Castle location will be the third for Ocean County, with others already in Toms River and Lacey.
