BRICK – Brick’s very own Saint Dominic School has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, highlighting the school’s overall academic achievement and encouraging environment.
Saint Dominic School is one of just 49 non-public schools throughout the country to receive this prestigious title in the Exemplary High Performing Schools category. Exemplary High Performing Schools demonstrate student achievement in English and math, ranking among the top 15 percent in the country as measured by a nationally normed test.
“Each and every person in our school community works tirelessly to ensure our children have an enriching and inspiring academic experience and are prepared to take on the world,” said Carol Bathmann, principal at Saint Dominic School. “In return, our students are engaged in their studies and activities, and it is their many achievements that contributed significantly to our 2018 National Blue Ribbon award. This is truly an honor and an affirmation of the hard work, expertise, and dedication of so many.”
Secretary DeVos congratulated Saint Dominic students in a video message on Oct. 1, recognizing their accomplishments and the school’s commitment to its students.
The Secretary and the Department of Education will host the 2018 award ceremony for the 300 public and 49 private school National Blue Ribbon honorees in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 7-8.
