BRICK – A Maryland man who fled from police crashed his vehicle and was eventually apprehended.
Police stopped the driver of a 2009 black Chevy Silverado on Route 70 near Van Zile Road around 6 a.m. today for an expired registration on the landscape trailer. The driver gave a false name and then sped away on Route 70 west, then making a right-hand turn onto Jack Martin Boulevard.
The officer chose not to pursue the driver, who was driving erratically.

His passenger was 26-year-old Rachel Katz of Brick. She was arrested on an unrelated warrant. She was processed and released.
