BRICK – Township police are investigating a serious accident involving a car and a motorcycle that killed one man and closed a busy road for several hours.
Brick Township Police Traffic Safety Supervisor Sergeant Keith Donnelly confirmed the crash took place at Brick Boulevard North near Beaverson Boulevard at around 3:36 p.m. on Saturday.
Police said 70-year-old Ronald Tucci of Brick was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Brick Boulevard in the outside lane when he collided with a Honda Accord driven by 30-year-old Daina Massarelli of East Hanover. According to police, the crash happened when both vehicles were attempting to change lanes.
Tucci was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered severe lower body and internal injuries. He was treated at the scene by Brick EMS and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he died.
Both Massarelli and her passenger 63-year-old Jeanne Massarelli of Brick were not harmed in the accident.
The Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash. Traffic in the area was detoured around the scene of the crash for five hours during the cleanup and investigation.

Both Patrolman Lampiasi and Patrolman Thergesen of the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit are leading the probe.
